Priority Canada immigration processing is offered to 29 targeted occupations through the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program’s BC PNP Tech stream.

As the leading pathway to permanent residence for foreign technology workers, BC PNP Tech includes a concierge service that includes a guaranteed next-business-day assignment of applications in one of the outlined occupations.

The pathway prioritizes technology sector applications for existing BC categories. This means candidates still need to meet the basic requirements of each British Columbia immigration category, including a minimum one-year job offer from a BC employer.

The program mainly draws from BC’s streams for Skilled Workers and International Graduates.

In 2021, 1,697 nominations were issued through BC PNP Tech, accounting for 27.3 percent of the skilled workers nominated by the province. This was slightly down on the previous year, possibly due to the impact of COVID-19 on the ability to bring in immigrants from abroad.

BC PNP Tech’s long list of eligible occupations and ease of access for employers places it above other similar programs, including Ontario’s Tech Draws and the federal Global Talent Stream.

Read on to discover the 29 eligible occupations. Please be aware that the National Occupational Classification codes are subject to change with the imminent launch of NOC 2021.
