Ontario Issues 2,552 Skilled Trades Invitations Targeting 49 Jobs In New Express Entry Draw

Ontario has conducted in a new draw through the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP), issuing 2,552 Canada immigration invitations to Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream candidates.

The January 11 draw saw invites issued to candidates in 49 occupations scoring between 350 and 424 Comprehensive Ranking System points.

The invitations were targeted at the following occupations:

  1. NOC 72010 – Contractors and supervisors, machining, metal forming, shaping and erecting trades and related occupations
  2. NOC 72011 – Contractors and supervisors, electrical trades and telecommunications occupations
  3. NOC 72012 – Contractors and supervisors, pipefitting trades
  4. NOC 72013 – Contractors and supervisors, carpentry trades
  5. NOC 72014 – Contractors and supervisors, other construction trades, installers, repairers and servicers
  6. NOC 72020 – Contractors and supervisors, mechanic trades
  7. NOC 72021 – Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews
  8. NOC 72022 – Supervisors, printing and related occupations
  9. NOC 72100 – Machinists and machining and tooling inspectors
  10. NOC 72101 – Tool and die makers
  11. NOC 72102 – Sheet metal workers
  12. NOC 72103 – Boilermakers
  13. NOC 72104 – Structural metal and platework fabricators and fitters
  14. NOC 72105 – Ironworkers
  15. NOC 72200 – Electricians (except industrial and power system)
  16. NOC 72201 – Industrial electricians
  17. NOC 72203 – Electrical power line and cable workers
  18. NOC 72205 – Telecommunications equipment installation and cable television service technicians
  19. NOC 72300 – Plumbers
  20. NOC 72301 – Steamfitters, pipefitters and sprinkler system installers
  21. NOC 72302 – Gas fitters
  22. NOC 72310 – Carpenters
  23. NOC 72311 – Cabinetmakers
  24. NOC 72320 – Bricklayers
  25. NOC 72321 – Insulators
  26. NOC 72400 – Construction millwrights and industrial mechanics
  27. NOC 72401 – Heavy-duty equipment mechanics
  28. NOC 72402 – Heating, refrigeration and air conditioning mechanics
  29. NOC 72403 – Railway carmen/women
  30. NOC 72404 – Aircraft mechanics and aircraft inspectors
  31. NOC 72406 – Elevator constructors and mechanics
  32. NOC 72410 – Automotive service technicians, truck and bus mechanics and mechanical repairers
  33. NOC 72422 – Electrical mechanics
  34. NOC 72423 – Motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle and other related mechanics
  35. NOC 72500 – Crane operators
  36. NOC 73100 – Concrete finishers
  37. NOC 73101 – Tilesetters
  38. NOC 73102 – Plasterers, drywall installers and finishers and lathers
  39. NOC 73110 – Roofers and shinglers
  40. NOC 73111 – Glaziers
  41. NOC 73112 – Painters and decorators (except interior decorators)
  42. NOC 73113 – Floor covering installers
  43. NOC 73200 – Residential and commercial installers and servicers
  44. NOC 73201 – General building maintenance workers and building superintendents
  45. NOC 73202 – Pest controllers and fumigators
  46. NOC 73209 – Other repairers and servicers
  47. NOC 73400 – Heavy equipment operators
  48. NOC 73402 – Drillers and blasters – surface mining, quarrying and construction

Ontario Express Entry: Skilled Trades Stream

The Express Entry Skilled Trades Stream targets skilled trades workers in the construction and agricultural sectors but could be expanded in the future.

To qualify applicants must have:

  • Active profile under the Federal Express Entry system.
  • At least 12 months, cumulative or continuous, of full-time paid work experience in Ontario, within the last two years prior to the Notification of Interest, in NOC major groups 72 (excluding occupations under transportation officers), 73, 82, 83, 93 (excluding aircraft assemblers and aircraft assembly inspectors) or minor group 6320 (excluding cooks).
  • Proof of Ontario license or certification if an occupational requirement.
  • A valid work permit and residing in Ontario at the time of application.
  • Minimum language CLB/NCLC level 5 or above in English or in French.
  • Proof of required settlement funds.
