Sudbury, Ontario has issued six invitations in its first draw through the Rural & Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP).
The April 23 draw saw candidates require a minimum score of 280 points.
It is the first city included under the RNIP to conduct a draw. Each participating city has the freedom to choose how candidates are selected.
In Sudbury, candidates are ranked in a pool using a points-based system similar to the federal Express Entry system.

Also similar to Express Entry, Sudbury used a tie-breaking rule for its first draw, with a cut-off date of April 15, 2020 at 4.28pm.
If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their application.
