The lowest-ranked candidate in the latest draws for Alberta’s Express Entry stream scored just 302 Comprehensive Ranking System points.
Two new draws were conducted on September 11 and September 18 that underline the importance of provinces like Alberta for those with lower CRS scores.
A total of 478 Notification of Interest letters were sent to candidates, many that would have had no chance of qualifying through federal Express Entry draws.
On September 11, 339 candidates were issued NOIS, with CRS scores as low as 302.
On September 19, 139 candidates were issued NOIS, with CRS scores as low as 350.
Important requirements for the Alberta Express Entry stream are that candidates have stated an interest in immigrating permanently to the province, and are working in an occupation that supports Alberta’s economic development and diversification.

Alberta has now conducted 24 draws tapping the federal Express Entry pool during 2019.
As of September 24, 2019, Alberta has issued 4,378 of its 6,000 federal government nomination allocation.
The province also has 1,650 applications awaiting assessment.
